Deflection

When presented with a reflective surface, we yearn to see ourselves. We are disconcerted when it is denied to us, or presented to us in an alarming or nonstandard way. This piece gives agency to the reflective surface - the mirror decides how and when you see yourself.

An interactive art installation built and presented for Stanford's Advanced Interaction Design studio. Built in arduino using ToF sensors, a worm gear winch motor, and a mirror.
